Location–Southern Terminus, Pinhoti Trail, to Flagg Mountain Tower
Odyssey 2021 Bama to Baxter – Hike On, was successfully concluded on at 1:00 pm when I hiked the final mile, from the southern terminus of the Pinhoti Trail, to the tower atop the summit of Flagg Mountain.
Friends and well-wishers came from near and far to congratulate me and share in my joy at the finish of this long, difficult journey.

What a wonderful legacy! I met you many years ago when I was on the on the AT. I did not get to complete the whole trail but I have done all 14 states overnight, at 85 I don’t think I’ll be finishing it. But your journals were a joy to read, thank you.

So enjoyed following your journey, the way you enjoyed the trail and the friends you shared it with, tge way you embraced hardships so gracefully and the inspiration you have given me to continue hiking into my 70’s. Hope to meet you on the Pinhoti when I hiked it with my grandkids.
