Trail Day–019
Trail Mile–10.0/208.5
Location–Simms Mountain Trail, then to home of Tim and Angela Groves, Rome, GA
Another great night at the Historic Hearn Inn. Just a delightful old place. Thanks to everyone in Cave Spring-
-all you who extend kindness to hikers and make us feel welcome in your community!
A shuttle is necessary to get us out and hiking this morning. Two vehicles, one belonging to Copperhead, the other to a kind local, Nellie–we all pile in: Unicorn, Jackrabbit, Wrecking Ball, Ryan, Pickles, Whoops, & Little John. Kind folks near the Simms Mountain Trail, the Parker family, let Copperhead park his car in their yard for the day, then Nellie gets Copperhead and me on trail at Blacks Bluff Road. By nine we’re into the remainder of this roadwalk out of Cave Spring. Thanks for shuttling us Nellie, and for your kindness!

Photo time on the Coosa River as the logging trucks fly by.
Copperhead
finds change along today and I add a spoon and fork to my twelve place flatware collection
A stop for lunch at Evans Parts & Deli at Alabama Highway/Huffaker Road–and from there we huff it on up Huffaker Road and back to the Parker place. By early afternoon this roadwalk is done…
