A real struggle today. My energy level is in the tank. I’m suffering some kind of intestinal bug. That unwanted instant announcement: YOU GOTTA GO BUDDY! But you don’t get there in time–know what I mean? Durwin helps clean me up. True friend; thanks Durwin!
The final pull up and over Deer Park Mountain (before the descent to Hot Springs), didn’t think I’d make it.
So relieved to be in. Laughing Heart, just a really fine hostel. Caboose welcomes me. He’s prepared a room anticipating my arrival. Hot shower first thing. Durwin launders my soiled, smelly clothes.
Jimmy and Walt come early afternoon to provide support for the next number of days. I’m invited out to supper with them, but there’s just no way. I do manage to hit the sack and drop into extended deep sleep.
Not the finest day on the trail…
