Trail Day–129
Trail Mile–-9.6/1,448.1
Location–Weverton Cliffs Trailhead, then to Holiday Inn Express, Brunswick, AT Mile 1,029.4

The bunk room at Cross Trails Hostel, quiet, and my lower bunk in the corner, very comfortable. I slept well.

Being the early riser, I get coffee going at five, then work my journal entries until six. Belinda’s sister brought a large bag of goodies for me yesterday evening and I dig out all the sweets to wash down with my coffee.

A little after seven Peak Freak loads Weatherman, Rachel (and me), then drives us back up the mountain.

This day will be short and the trail very friendly. Late morning I’m in Harpers Ferry where I head over to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy Headquarters. I’m northbound thru-hiker #759. I get my picture taken by the ATC sign, for the fourth time.

The hike on out of Harpers Ferry takes me along the old abandoned C&O Canal Towpath before crossing the tracks and climbing to the Weverton Cliffs Trailhead, where Robin Lewis and her friend Rhonda (and her son Noah) are waiting for me. It’s a short drive to the nearby Holiday Inn Express where a room has been reserved for me. Thanks, Earl!

Kind hearts are the gardens.
Kind thoughts are the roots.
Kind words are the blossoms.
Kind deeds are the fruits.
